Job description

ROLE:

Reporting directly to the European Procurement Director,  this role is responsible for developing, leading, executing, and managing the acquisition planning process for indirect (non-product) spend for Nike U.K./Ireland as well as the Umbro entity.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads the effort to identify and capture high savings opportunities in UK/Ireland (HQs, retail and Umbro) including expanding the scope of procurement to tap into new business opportunities and untraditional commodities.
  • Implementation of agreements made to the extent that a solid contract is made, cost savings reflected in the budget and that processes are clear to all stakeholders and implemented.
  • Continue to work actively within existing account management relationships (internal departments) to look for improvement projects, e.g. benchmark, supplier performance management.
  • Develops new supplier relationships and embeds contracts into day to day operations.
  • Lead the tendering, competitive bid evaluations, price and contract negotiations for new sourcing initiatives and effectively renews, tenders and renegotiates existing contracts.
  • Establish operational sourcing procedures with the business for local purchases where a hands-free solution has not been put into place.
  • Monitors and manages supplier delivery performance, including setting KPIs, measuring success and continuously reviewing service levels. Analyses spend patterns and local supply base.

 

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

a) Ability to manage and execute sourcing, negotiations, acquisition development and planning for specific projects and clients.

b) Strong knowledge of procurement management and systems life.

c) Strong analytical skills and business acumen. General financial skills and knowledge, including basic understanding of balance sheet and budgeting.

d) Strong verbal and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations.

e) Ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives.

f) Strong information seeking skills and drive to make things happen (Results Orientation). Ability to understand challenges or underlying concerns, share ideas, and develops effective. responses or elevates to higher management.

g) Skills to influence others, change mindsets and impact buying behaviour across multiple stakeholders.
