Job description MISSION:

Act as the category consumer/product/market expert in their Territory. Collaborate with Global Category Merchandising to create category assortments that exceed consumer and customer expectations.  Work with in-territory category teams and other resources to bring the category vision to life at retail and deliver against category/geo/terr financial goals

MAIN TASKS:
- Champion the Consumer : Identify, prioritize and frame Terr consumer and athlete trends (insights) as input into the global product engines to inform and influence the product creation process. Provide qualitative information (trends, color, materials, fit, price/value, performance, innovation needs, etc.). Participate in consumer insight gathering (DIG process) to help bring consumer opportunity to light.
- Champion Product : Participate in the global category line validation and GEO line adoption. Build a Terr category offering that optimizes line profitability and brand impact.  Represent the category and consumer throughout the GTM process; evangelize the seasonal stories and product offering.
- Drive the Category Vision to Retail : Collaborate with Global Category Merchandising to validate and adopt directive assortments.  Partner with Terr Brand Merchandising to optimize the category offering and ensure strong segmentation and differentiation.  Work with Sales, Brand, Retail and other resources to ensure market success with the distribution framework.
- Manage & Drive Category Business : Support of the Category GM in achieving the Terr Category business goals including revenue, bookings and forecasts..  Lead pricing/ forecasting (x-product type) working toward margin goals. Track and share quantitative information (revenue $/unit, GPM%, forecasts, model/style/sku count and efficiency targets) together with the consumer/product insights with the Global Category and Geo Brand Merch. Contribute to the Territory Category strategic plans and support Brand Marketing on specific initiatives
- Be a Team Player : Be an active member of both the territory category and merchandising teams - Create strong connections with Geo and global category products and merchants teams

JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Minimum 5 years experience including 2 years relevant experience in product merchandising, sales and/or product marketing
Good level understanding of retail buying and or sales and the product creation process. Proven success in understanding consumer needs and translating those into product. proficiency in editing a product line for profitability.  Proficient in leveraging all tools available to drive/inform product decisions. (i.e GP,Merchman, trend reports, product integrity data, consumer insights, etc)
